Mr. Tomas R Aguilar

Colorado City- Mr. Tomas R. Aguilar, age 85, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 in Colorado City. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Sammy Contreras officiating and burial to follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Tomas was born on December 19, 1924 in Sweetwater to Luis and Refugia Rodriguez Aguilar. He was a longtime resident of Colorado City and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Jessie Aguilar of Colorado City; sons, Sammy Contreras and wife, Lupe of Colorado City, Jesse Aguilar and wife, Mary of Colorado City, Ernesto Aguilar of Colorado City and Ruben Aguilar and wife, Renee of Colorado City; daughters, Gloria De La Cruz of San Angelo and Diana Garza of Colorado City; numerous nieces and nephews; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Tomas is preceded in death by his sons, Narciso Contreras, Jr. and Robert Aguilar and Tomas Aguilar, Jr. and daughter, Graciela Aguilar

Jessie Aguilar, 88, of Colorado City went to be with her lord on Thursday, June 4, 2015.

Born November 15, 1926 in Independence Kansas, Jessie was the daughter of Alejandro and Consuelo Rocha. Jessie was a life member of the Emanuel Baptist Church of Colorado City. She was an active member of the church participating in every community event that the church put on and leading the Churches WMU. Whether it be the Thanksgiving meals, Christmas in April, The mission, Feed the Hikers, or any of many events the church held over the years, Jessie was there as she felt that contributing in these church functions was her way of showing her love for her community and spreading the word of God.

Jessie is survived by her sons, Sammy Contreras and wife Lupe of Colorado City, Jesse Aguilar and wife Mary of Colorado City, Ernesto Aguilar of Colorado City, and Ruben Aguilar ad wife, Renee of Colorado City; Daughters, Gloria De La Cruz of San Angelo and Diana Garza of Colorado City, as well as 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Jessie is also survived by her siblings Aleja Gutierrez, Teresa Perez, Alex Rocha Jr., Charlie Rocha, Trina Aguilar, and Adelina Leal in addition to several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home on Sunday June 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. with a funeral service to be conducted at the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Colorado City on Monday, June 8th at 10 am with the Rev. Alfredo Valdez officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery.
