Alfredo “Freddie” Alvarez, 58, Colorado City passed away at the Hendrick Medical Center of Abilene on December 22, 2020. He was born on March 27, 1962 in La Puente California to Eriberto and Susana Velarde Alvarez.

Freddie was a family man at heart who enjoyed doing everything he could with family when he was not working. When home he would host family barbecues, especially on the 4th of July. His favorite time of the year was Christmas, he especially enjoyed watching the children’s faces light up as they opened their gifts. Freddie was a long time employee of American Airlines, spending 28 years as a flight attendant traveling the world helping make peoples flights as enjoyable as possible. For a few of those years he was an instructor, teaching new recruits how to be good flight attendants. Freddie also spent some time as a substitute teacher in the Mitchell county area. In his spare time Freddie enjoyed shopping with family, especially if there was a wedding dress that needed to be chosen, and hanging out with his friends.

Freddie is survived by his mother Susana “Chana” Alvarez, by his fur baby and best friend Cooper, by his brothers Eddie Alvarez and Armando Alvarez and wife Mary both of Colorado City, and by a sister Nora Garner and husband Tom of Marion Texas. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Debbie Rios and husband Paul of Odessa, Chris Alvarez of Snyder, Amanda Costabile and husband Ryan of Colorado City, Angela DeArmond and husband Chris of San Antonio, and Nicole Milner and husband Mason of Great Falls Montana. Several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends are also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father Eriberto Alvarez.

A graveside service for Freddie will be private family only, those wishing may attend online at Kiker Seale Funeral Homes Facebook page at 2pm on Saturday, December 26th In lieu of flowers please consider donations in his memory to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
