COLORADO CITY ~~ Rites for Herman Dawson, 55, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Olive Baptist Church here with burial in Mitchell County Cemetery directed by Kiker and Son Funeral Home.
Dawson died early Sunday morning in Root Memorial Hospital here after an illness of several months.
He was born January 14, 1914 in Clarksville and came to Colorado City in 1932. He was a school custodian.
He is survived by one son, James Melvin Dawson of Odessa; three sisters, Mrs. Mayme Campbell of Colorado City, Mrs. Mattie Hudson of Houston and Mrs. Bernice Perkins of Amarillo; one brother, Doyle Dawson of Memphis, Texas.
Son of Aron and Sallie (Smith) Dawson.
