Funeral services for W.A. "Army" Armstrong, 81, of Friona are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 1995, at First United Methodist Church in Friona.
Reverend Lee Roark and Reverend Vergil Ichtertz will officiate. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery under direction of Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home.
Armstrong died December 20, 1995, at Prairie Acres in Friona.
He was born November 25, 1914 in Rising Star, Texas. He married Barbara Bache on June 27, 1952 in Lovington, New Mexico.
Armstrong was a member of the Methodist Church, Friona Masonic Lodge #1332, and the Zapata Masonic Lodge #1402.
He worked for Bruegel Gin for 10 years, and was an insurance adjuster for National Ag. Underwriters for eight years.
Armstrong lived in Friona since 1967, moving from Zapata. He had moved to Zapata from the Lubbock area where he had lived since 1952.
Survivors include: two sons; Garry Armstrong of Charlotte, NC and Alan Armstrong of Lockney, TX: one daughter: Susan Patterson of Dimmitt; two brothers; J.C. Armstrong of Lubbock and Rev. W.L. Armstrong.
He also had seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
