HEREFORD - Clifford L. Arnold, 79, died Thursday, September 16, 2004.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Cosby officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.

Mr. Arnold was born July 19, 1925, in Donley County, the son of Porter L. and Hassie (Clay) Arnold. Cliff was a veteran, having served in the Navy during World War II as a radioman, on the staff of Vice Admiral Daniel E. Barby, commander of the 7th amphibious forces in the South Pacific. After being honorably discharged in 1946, he attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview and West Texas State College in Canyon. He moved to Hereford in 1949 and worked in retail sales.

Mr. Arnold married Guiletta Uvonne Gunstenson on Dec. 2, 1952, in Hereford. He retired from tax assessing and collecting for the school, city and county appraisal district which he had done since 1966. Cliff was a member of First Baptist Church and some of his special interests were working on genealogy, playing golf and hunting Indian relics and arrowheads.

Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Lois Walker of Silverton and Voneta Marcus of Lafayette, Ind.

The family suggests memorials be to Panhandle Chapter Alzheimer's Association, 2200 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79106; Odyssey Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, TX 79101; or First Baptist Church of Hereford, 500 N. Main St., Hereford, TX 79045.

Funeral Services for Guiletta Arnold, 86, a long-time Hereford resident will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at Parkside Chapel with Reverend Chris Flickinger, pastor, of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at West Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Arnold passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 in Hereford.

Guiletta Uvonne Gunstenson was born August 8, 1931 to William Thomas and Ethel Bowen Gunstenson in Wellington, Texas. Her family moved to the Hereford area in 1942. She attended Hereford School’s and graduated in 1948. Guiletta met and fell in love with Clifford Arnold and they married on December 2, 1951 at First Baptist Church. She had worked as a dental assistant before working at First Bank Southwest (formally known as First National Bank) for over 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church for many years. Guiletta was a great cook and always brought excellent salads to family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Ramona Hardwick.

She is survived by one sister, Wanda Burdine and husband Wendell of Hereford; three nieces, Debbie Miller, Brenda Cagle, and Janet Stone; two nephews, Lynn Noel and Mike Noel; and a host of family and friends.
