Funeral services for Charles Lawrence Bracken, 69, of 811 Jackson, were conducted at the Sixth Street Church of Christ Monday afternoon at 2:30.
M.B. McKinney, minister of the church, officiated. Pallbearers were George A. Jones, Walter Cochran, Monk Hand, Johnny Hand, R.E. Spead and Melvin Southward.
Mr. Bracken was born Nov. 23, 1890, at Jamestown, Ind. He lived at Snyder, Okla., several years before moving to the Friona area in 1930. He had been a farmer and building contractor here since that time.
Death came to Mr. Bracken at 5:45 p.m. Saturday at his home following a lengthy illness. His condition had been critical several weeks prior to his death.
Survivors include his wife, Lena; four sons, Julius Bracken of Morton, Charles Bracken of Clovis and Gene and Rudy Bracken both of Friona; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Francis Kemp of Amarillo and Mrs. Marjorie Ann Southward of Stinnett; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren;
Also two brothers, Jack and Floyd Bracken, both of Amarillo; and two sisters, Zilpha Zimmer and Edith Bruns, both of Muleshoe.
Burial was in the Friona cemetery under direction of Claborn Funeral Home.
