Donna Coulter
August 4, 1952 - August 14, 2018

Funeral services for Donna Rodgers Shipp Coulter, 66, of Lamesa will be held Friday, August 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church with Nicky Chapman and Pastor Tobey Clements officiating. Interment will follow in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 16, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Donna passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in Lamesa. She was born August 4, 1952 in El Paso to Audra (Johnson) and David Rodgers. After the death of her father, David, Audra married Miller Shipp who lovingly raised Donna to become the wonderful woman that she was. She married Laurence Coulter September 4, 1970 in Lamesa. He preceded her in death April 24, 2012. She worked at Howard College as a college registrar and she influenced many lives through her work. Donna loved her grandchildren fiercely. She was a strong woman and a fighter.

She is survived by her children, Shonna Lawson and husband, David of Lamesa, Heather Wood of Lamesa, and Thomas Coulter and wife, Trish of Lindale; sisters, Diana Shipp Rodgers of Littlefield, and Suzie Noland and husband Kirby of Tawakoni; mother, Audra Shipp of Littlefield; brother, John Shipp of Littlefield; grandchildren, Aaron Coulter, Lane Coulter, Mallorie Lawson, Ja'Nae Lawson, Eric Wood, Chasity Wood, and Sebastian Coulter; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her fathers, David Rodgers, and Miller Shipp; and brother, Gary Shipp. The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society or Americn Diabetes Association.
