Funeral services for Bruce Carroll Earnest, 80, of Lamesa will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Crestview Baptist Church with Brother Charles Empey and Brother Brian Pinkerton officiating. Interment will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Bruce passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Lamesa.
He was born October 19, 1934 in Dawson County to Raymond and Vienna (Bartlett) Earnest. He married Edith Lund June 19, 1964 in Lamesa. They were married 50 years. Bruce farmed in Dawson County for over 40 years. He loved the Lord and his advice to others was, "You better get your life right".
He is survived by his wife, Edith Earnest of Lamesa; children, Nancy Beam of Arlington, Joe Earnest of Lubbock, Wayne Earnest of Lamesa, and Cindy "Kinder" Earnest of Lamesa; brother, Milton "Mick" Earnest and wife, Katheryn of Lamesa; grandsons, Dylan Beam of Austin, Joel Holguin of Odessa, and Jonathan Holguin of Portales, NM; and great-granddaughter, Natalia Holguin of Odessa. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Edith Allegra Earnest, 78, of Lamesa will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Nazarene with Brother Charles Empey officiating. Interment will follow in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Edith passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 in Lubbock. She was born January 25, 1940 Owatonna, Minnesota to Arnold and Laura (DeBolt) Lund. In 1960, she graduated from Naeve Hospital Nursing School in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She married Bruce Earnest June 19, 1964 in Lamesa. They were married 50 years. In 2005 she retired as a nurse after 50 years of dedication. She loved her cats and her dogs. Edith is survived by her children, Nancy Beam of Arlington, TX, Joe Earnest of Lubbock, Wayne Earnest of Lamesa, and Cindy "Kinder" Earnest of Lamesa; grandson, Dylan Beam, Joel and Jonathan Holguin;and great-granddaughters, Natalia Holguin and J'lin Holguin of Odessa; sisters Pat Draayer, Karen Nelson, Loretta Schewe, and Susan Westrum; brothers, Charles Lund and Thomas Lund. Edith is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bruce. The family suggests memorials Special Olympics Texas- South Plains Area 8214 Ash Ave, Lubbock, TX 79404.
