Mrs. Mary Bethune.
The mother of Mrs. J.J. Clark died at her daughter's home in Hereford Saturday, Feb. 24, after a lingering illness. Her death was unexpected and without warning, only the members of the family being present. She was 65 years of age and had lived in Hereford two years. She was born and raised in Tennessee, but came to Texas some 9 years ago. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. T.G. Nance assisted by Rev. Purcer. She had been a devout member of the Christian church for 47 years. A large number of friends were present at the services who followed her remains to the City Cemetery where interment was made Tuesday, Feb. 27. She leaves two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Hudspeth of Greenville, who was here to attend the funeral.
