Services for Lair Ivan Boldan [sic], 51, or 405 Whittier will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Rose Chapel of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clarence Powell, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery.

Mr. Boldan [sic] died Friday afternoon in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.

Born April 13, 1928 in New Auburn, Wisc., he married Doris Nixon Aug. 30, 1958 at New Auburn.

Mr. Boldan [sic] was a truck driver and a Baptist.

He is survived by the widow; two sons, Laird Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz. and Jeffrey of Hereford; three daughters, Mrs. Ramona Haney, and Amy and Ressa Boldan [sic], all of Hereford; his father, Ivan Boldan [sic] of Wisconsin; a sister, Mrs. Beverly Severude of Dallas, Wisc.; and a granddaughter.

*Obituary Doris Jean Nixon Boldon Sweeney
Doris Jean Sweeney, 71, life-long resident of Hereford passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in Dalhart. Celebration of Life Services will be Friday, January 6, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Parkside Chapel with Reverend Kevin Bushart, Pastor First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at West Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Doris Jean Nixon was born April 15, 1940 in Hereford to Oscar Frederick and Ruby Dixie Staton Nixon. She married Thomas Sweeney June 29, 1981 in Albuquerque, NM and was previously employed as a Fuel Clerk with Big Daddy's Truck Stop. Her family lovingly joked that Doris was "part Indian-part bull dog, she was either on the war path or sitting on her butt growling". She was a mentor for reading classes at HISD for many years as well as volunteering for those who were home-bound and was a supporter of many charities.Doris had a big heart, never meeting a stranger and will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and a friend to all.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Sweeney of Hereford, four Daughters, Ramona Soria of Dalhart,TX, Amy Ward of Amarillo, TX, Reesa Lightfoot and husband Shawn of Amarillo, TX and Angela Elane Cullen and husband Todd of Joplin,MO. Four Sons, Laird Boldon, Jr. and wife Carmen of Aubrey, TX, Jeffery Boldon and wife Laura of Lubbock, TX, T.J. Sweeney and wife Erin of Long Mont, CO and Kenny Sweeney and wife Shelley of Harrisburg, PA. One brother, Raymond Nixon of Leedy, OK and sister-in-law, Beverly Severude of Dallas, WI. 21 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Lois, Peggy, Thurman and Jerry. Son-In-Law, Ronnie Ward. Memorials in Mrs. Sweeney's name may be made to the Hereford Food Pantry, P.O. Memorial Graveside services for Tom Sweeney, 78, a former long-time resident of Hereford, will be held at 10:00 a.m. September 5, 2020 (his 79th birthday) at West Park Cemetery. Cremation and burial services are under the personal supervision of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Sweeney passed-away August 27, 2020.

Thomas Daugherty Sweeney was born September 5, 1941 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to James Frances and Helen Louise Daugherty Sweeney. He met and fell in love with Doris Jean Boldon, they later married in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 29, 1981. They were married for thirty one years. Tom drove trucks and became a driver/trainer for Lisa Motor lines until his retirement, after fifty two years of employment.

The legacy he leaves are one daughter Angela Cullen of Joplin, Missouri, two sons, T. J. Sweeney of Longmont, Colorado, and Kenny Bruce Sweeney of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, one brother Mike Sweeney of Audubon, Pennsylvania and one sister Ann Cappozzi of Carlisle, Pennsylvania three step daughters, Ramona Boldon Soria, of Dalhart, Reese Boldon Lightfoot and Amy Boldon Ward both of Amarillo, two step sons Jeff Boldon and wife Laura of Lubbock, Larry Jr. Boldon and wife Carmen of Prosper, and many grandchildren.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife Doris Jean Sweeney, his parents, two brothers, Patrick Frances Sweeney and Joe Widra and one sister Elizabeth Di Julio.
