The J. D. Bourn family came to Hereford from Denton County in 1906 and bought the home on East fourth where two of the daughters still live. Bourn was a real estate dealer and died here in 1912.
Martha Jane Bourn was married to J. D. Bourn on Oct. 11 1883. They were parents of: Mrs. Essie Cardwell and Miss Mary Bourn, Hereford; Mrs. Johnnie May Fuqua, Amarillo; and one son who died in 1925.

HEREFORD, March 20 - Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jane Bourn, 94, wife of the late J.D. Bourn, will be held here Saturday.
The Rev. Howard Scott, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Gilbert Davis Jr., pastor of the First Christian Church, will conduct services at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Bourn died Thursday at her home at 711 E. 4th here after an illness of several months. She was a native of Wise County. Her husband died in 1912.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Essie Cardwell and Miss Mary Bourn, both of Hereford, and Mrs. Johnnie May Fuqua of Amarillo; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
