HEREFORD — Teodoso "George" Cervantez, 76, of Deaf Smith County died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, in Hereford.
Celebration of life services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Good News Church, 621 E. 15th St., with the Rev. Israel Olivo, pastor of Dimmitt First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E. Sixth St., Hereford.
Mr. Cervantez was born June 4, 1937, in Burnet to Rafael and Julia Salazar Cervantez. He married the love of his life and best friend, Isabel Garza Cervantez, on July 22, 1961, in Olton.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Albert Cervantez of Mesquite; four daughters, Norma Jean Cervantez, Jovita Romo of Houston, Doris Limon of Austin and Susan S. Valdez of Round Rock; brothers, Ralph Cervantez of Marble Falls, Joe Servantez of Littlefield, Henry Cervantez of Littlefield and Robert Cervantez of Odessa; four sisters, Maxie Ribera of Marble Falls, Janie Ribera of Round Mountain, Mary Gonzales of Fort Worth and Francis Serna of Hereford; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials be to an American Kidney Foundation of choice.

Isabel Garza Cervantez, 81, longtime rural Deaf Smith County resident, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 19, 2015, in Amarillo.
A Memorial Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Good News Church, 621 E 15th Street, Hereford. Rev. Israel Olivo, Pastor of Dimmitt First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Cremation services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street.
Isabel was born November 14, 1933 in Runge, Texas, to Jesus and Jovita (Madrigal) Garza. She married Teodoso “George” Cervantez on July 22, 1961 in Olton, Texas. They moved to Hereford in 1966 from Littlefield. Isabel was a GREAT wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and bake for her family. Her favorite foods were Menudo and Tamales. She was always ready to help anyone who was in need. She was self-taught in math and reading, and would read her Bible daily. Isabel liked to watch the “Price Is Right” and “Little House on the Prairie”. She loved Michael Landon. He was her favorite actor. Isabel would love to bird watch and listen to the beautiful songs they would sing. She was a GREAT conversationalist. She loved to talk to people. She also loved her little pug, “Mattie Belle” whom she bottle fed and raised from birth. Isabel will be dearly missed by her children, family and the host of many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Teodosa “George” Cervantez in 2013; 1 son, George Cervantez in 2010; 2 brothers, Juan and Domingo Garza; and 1 sister, Julia Garza.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son; Albert Cervantez and wife Tina of Mesquite, TX; 2 daughters, Norma Jean Cervantez of Hereford, Jovita Romo of Houston; 1 brother, Hilario “Lalo” Garza and wife Maria of Spring Lake, TX and 5 grandchildren.

HEREFORD - George Cervantez, 48, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, in Amarillo.
Prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in La Iglesia de San Jose with the Rev. David Contreras as celebrant. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
Mr. Cervantez was born March 31, 1962, in Littlefield to Teodoso and Isabel Garza Cervantez. He married Andrea Luna in 1999 in Hereford.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Raquel Martinez of Hereford; two sons, Michael Ramirez and Chris Carrillo of Hereford; his parents; a brother, Albert Cervantez of Melissa; two sisters, Norma Jean Cervantez of Hereford and Jovita Romo of Katy; and six grandchildren.
