HEREFORD - Donald "Hoss" Cockrum, 49, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in West Park Cemetery with Joe Schultz, chaplain of Westgate Nursing Home, officiating. Arrangements are by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Mr. Cockrum was born July 28, 1960, in Dimmitt to Billy and Mattie Cockrum. He grew up in Hereford and attended Hereford High School. He married Marsha Clark in 1993. Hoss loved cooking out and spending time with his family and friends and he loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He loved people and would do anything to help others. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha, and his father, Billy, in 1978.
Survivors include his mother, Mattie Beasley of Hereford; two sisters, Christine Back and husband Larry of Canyon and Viola McClesky of Abilene; a brother, Billy Cockrum of Beeville; and many other loving family members.
