HEREFORD - Floyd Veldon Coker, 80, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, in Amarillo.

Celebration of Life services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kyle Streun, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery with military honors by Hereford's Marine Corps Jr. ROTC, under the command of retired Maj. Diego Barela, USMC. Arrangements are by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Coker was born May 29, 1926, in Summerfield to James Roy and Ina Burnett Harryman Coker. He married Juanita Upton of Hereford on Nov. 19, 1945, in Hereford.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter; Donna Coker Harris of Clovis, N.M.; a son, Lonnie Mac Coker of Amarillo; a sister, Eva Aline Turner of Friona; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the Hereford Senior Citizens Center, 426 Ranger, Hereford, TX 79045 or BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.

Juanita Grace (Upton) Coker, 88, lifetime rural Deaf Smith County resident, went home to her Lord and husband Floyd, on Sunday, January 17, 2016 in Hereford.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 21, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Streun, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street.

Juanita was born in Hereford on October 24, 1927, to Willie and Lillie (Hughes) Upton. Juanita graduated from Hereford High School in 1945. She fell in love and married her best friend, Floyd Veldon Coker on November 19, 1946 in Hereford. Juanita was a member of First Baptist Church and Adult Sunday School Class. She worked there for 24 plus years teaching kindergarten and caring for the “little ones.” She loved her Lord. Juanita loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was a member of the Hereford Senior Citizens and made many people laugh as she participated in the Melodrama for several years. Earlier in her marriage, she and Floyd would travel on their motor cycle. She also liked to read. She never missed a family or friend’s birthday; they were very important to her.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lillie; husband, Floyd on August 2, 2006; son-in-law, Mike Harris on June 2, 2007; 1 brother, Rev. M. G. Upton; and 1 sister-in-law, Viva Upton.

Survivors left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Donna Harris of Clovis, NM; son, Lonnie Coker and wife Beverly of Austin; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; and a host of many friends.

Juanita suggested memorials to First Baptist Church, 500 N. Main, Hereford, TX 79045.
