Aubrey Howard Cook, 81, of Hereford, died Monday.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. H.W. Bartlett, pastor, and the Rev. J.L. Bozeman officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery, by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home.
Mr. Cook was born in Whitewright and married Leola Cummins on June 2, 1934, in Clovis, N.M. They came to Deaf Smith County from Hockley County in 1955. Mr. Cook was a farmer. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Joe Bertram Cook, in 1935.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Ron Cook of Spearman and Lynn Cook of Amarillo; a daughter, Jeanette Hampton of Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Paul Cook of Whitewright; a stepsister, Louise Stanley of Rogers, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

HEREFORD - Leola Cummins Cook, 96, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008.
Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Field, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.
Leola was born Nov. 24, 1911, in Denton County to Robert and Synthia Curtis Cummins. She married Aubrey Howard Cook on June 2, 1934, in Clovis, N.M. They moved to Hereford from Smyer in 1955.
Leola was a homemaker, a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Hereford Senior Citizens Center. Leola graduated from Texas Tech University with a teaching certificate. She was an artist and loved to paint.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; three sisters; a son, Joe Bertram Cook, in 1935; and her husband, Aubrey Howard Cook, in 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Hampton and husband Joe of Bartlesville, Okla.; two sons, Ron Cook and wife Loretto of Ennis and Lynn Cook of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Hereford Senior Citizens Center, 426 Ranger Drive, Hereford, TX 79045.
