HEREFORD - Ray Coronado, 60, died Monday, June 27, 2011, in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Sam Rando, pastor of Genesis Church of Hereford, and the Rev. David Patrick, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church in Plainview, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.

Israel V. "Ray" Coronado was born July 11, 1950, in Hereford. He was the youngest of eight children born to Ventura and Raquel Valdez Coronado. He lived all his life in Hereford. He attended Hereford Schools, and was a member of Genesis Church. He had worked for Gearn Inc. as a welder and shop supervisor for 35 years.

He married Molly Beltran on Sept. 11, 1968, in Hereford. She passed away in April 2005.

He was preceded in death by his father; a granddaughter, Destinie Ellis, in November 2003; and a brother.

Survivors include four daughters, Mechelle Ellis and her children Zack Ellis and Elijah Ellis, all of Hereford, Becky Coronado of LaPorte and her children Stephanie Coronado and Bryan Coronado, both of Hereford, Lori Coronado and her children Payton Gonzales, Zevan Gonzales and Hayden Gonzales, all of Hereford, and Rachel Coronado and her fiance Salvador Palacios Jr. and her children Jaedon Garcia and Jayven Garcia, all of Hereford; a stepdaughter, Debbie Patrick and husband David of Plainview; and a stepson, Richard Beltran of Hereford.

The family suggests memorials be to Genesis Church, 3885 U.S. Highway 385, Hereford, TX 79045; or American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
