Rites Tuesday for Pioneer Resident

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Crawford, former resident of Deaf Smith County, were held Tuesday afternoon in Rose Chapel of Gililland Funeral Home with the Rev. Alby Cockrell, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Crawford died Sunday in Belin [sic], N.M., at the home of her son, Oscar Crawford, where she had been living for the past two years. She was 77 years old.

Mrs. Crawford was born May 16, 1880, in Paris, Texas. She was married to the late D.W. Crawford, June, 1896, in Oklahoma and came to Deaf Smith County with her husband in 1903.

Survivors include two sons, Oscar Crawford of Belin, N.M., and Frank Crawford; two daughters, Miss Pauline Crawford of Houston and Mrs. L.L. Lasater of Cincinatti, Ohio; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
