Funeral Services for Donald Douglas, 82, a long-time Hereford area resident, will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at King’s Manor Lamar Room with Dennis Latham, Chaplain, Kevin Douglas, son and Michael Page, son-in-law officiating. Interment will follow in West Park Cemetery. Mr. Douglas passed away Sunday in Hereford. Professional Services provided by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Donald Douglas, born October 8, 1933 in Plainview, Texas to Chyral Thomas and Sylvia Glee Pinkerton Douglas. He attended schools in Plainview, graduating in May of 1952. He met and fell in love with Mary Epperly, they were married July 6, 1952 in Plainview. Donald worked at the family Dairy until he and Mary moved to Hereford in 1960. They farmed west of Hereford until he retired in 1983. Donald was then employed at West Park Cemetery as caretaker and sextant until he again retired in 2011. He was a member of Hereford Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Douglas is survived by one daughter, Deeann Page and husband Michael of Lubbock, three sons, Rodney Douglas and wife Kathy of Hereford, Kevin Douglas and wife Tammy of Dalhart, and Steven Douglas and wife Pam of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, one sister Belva Palmer of Independence, Kansas, one brother Bobby Douglas of Lubbock. Eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials in Mr. Douglas name be made to King’s Manor Methodist Retirement System, 400 Ranger, Hereford, Texas 79045.

Funeral Services for Mary L. Douglas, 78, a long time Deaf Smith County resident, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Hereford Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Kevin Douglas, pastor of Dalhart Church of the Nazarene and Michael Page, pastor, of Lubbock Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Douglas passed away Wednesday March 12, 2014 in Deaf Smith County.

Mary L. Epperly was born April 23, 1935, in Lamb County to Otis and Katherine White Epperly. She met and fell in love with Donald Douglas and they married on July 6, 1952, in Plainview, TX. She was an active member of the Hereford Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Douglas liked to keep herself busy by being part of several organizations, which include being the President of West Way Home Demonstration Club, Deaf Smith County Jr. Stock Show, and Young Farmers Jr. Live Stock Show.

Left to mourn her passing is her beloved husband; 3 sons, Rodney Douglas and wife Kathy of Hereford, Kevin Douglas and wife Tammy of Dalhart, Steven Douglas and wife Pam of Broken Arrow; 1 daughter, Dee Ann Page and husband Mike of Lubbock; 1 brother Dwight Stone of Riverside, CA; 2 sisters Cluadia Barbian of Amarillo, and Elaine Holcom of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
