Annie Laura (Ann) Durham, 67, the wife of Joe Durham of Memphis, died Thursday, June 6. She suffered a heart attack while attending church services Wednesday night.
Mrs. Durham was the sister of two Wellington residents, Mrs. Beatrice Thomas and Emory L. Ewing. She visited Wellington frequently. The couple traveled with a group of recreational vehicle owners from Wellington and attended club and social functions here.
Mrs. Durham was born in Comanche County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Ewing, who came to Quail about 1929.
As the Quail Rural High School had not been established, she graduated from Canyon High School.
She went to Hereford in 1937 and was a long time employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. retiring in 1972.
She was married at Hereford to Marvin Knox, who died there in 1969. She moved to Memphis in 1972, where she was married to Mr. Durham.
Mrs. Durham was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are her husband, a daughter, Cynthia Ann Knox Rye of Jacksboro; two brothers, Emory L. Ewing of Wellington; and Chester R. Ewing of Texarkana; a sister, Mrs. Thomas of Wellington; and three grandchildren.
