ANKEY, Pansy Pansy Louise Yankey, 100, died peacefully on August 11, 2020. Pansy was born in Brashear, Texas, on March 30, 1920 to Frank and Vera Baxter. Pansy had four sisters and four brothers. She married James Cleo Yankey in 1938 and they had a daughter, Brenda and son, Ronnie. During WWII, Pansy worked at North American Aviation working as drill press operator and was a real Rosie the Riveter. She had a long career with Dallas Power & Light Company and worked in personnel. Pansy lived in Dallas for many years and was a long-time member of White Rock Church of Christ. She later lived in Irving where she was a member of Beltline Road Church of Christ. Pansy was an avid bowler for many years and loved gardening and her sports teams, especially the Mavericks and Rangers. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Dallas Firefighter's Association. Pansy was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Vera Baxter, husband James Cleo Yankey, brothers Woodrow (Mary Ruth) Baxter, James William (Wanda) Baxter, sisters Lola (Vaulter) Hickman, Jewell (Raymond) Loafman, Mary Jo (James) Beck, and Glenna Rose Baxter, son-in-law Floyd Bryant, and sister-in-law Marie Baxter. Pansy is survived by her brother Max (Sherry) Baxter of Sulphur Springs, brother Elton Ray Baxter of Greenville, daughter Brenda Bryant of Irving, son Ronnie Yankey of Irving, granddaughters Karen (Bruce) McCoskey of Irving, and Kelly (Derrol) Allen of Irving, great-grandchildren Kristen Cornish of Bedford, Justin (Annelise) Hardegree of Wood-way, Texas, Jeff Cornish of Irving, and Jeremy (Laura) Hardegree of Houston, five great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, August 16, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home Monday, August 15, at 3:00 pm.
