HEREFORD — Ignacio Gonzalez, 83, of Hereford died Wednesday April, 23, 2014.
Vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Tony Neusch, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford.
Ignacio Gonzalez was born Feb. 12, 1931, in Edroy to Blas and Bascilia Garza Gonzalez. He married Maria Nava on Oct. 7, 1951, in Valle Hermoso, Mexico.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Gonzalez of Hereford; four sons, Rosendo Gonzalez, Armando Gonzalez, Jorge Gonzalez and Robert Gonzalez, all of Hereford; a daughter, Rosa Bidwell Amarillo; two brothers, Pablo Gonzalez of Mexico and Gilberto Gonzalez of San Juan; three sisters, Maria Guadalupe Andrade and Maria Elena Alaniz, both of Hereford, and Gloria Sotelo of Pharr; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great- great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials be to Coffee Memorial Blood Center, Blood Bank, 7500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79124.

Mass of Christian Burial for Maria Gonzalez, 88, a Hereford resident for over fifty five years will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Tony Neusch, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow at West Park Cemetery under the personal supervision of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Gonzalez passed away, Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in Amarillo.
Maria Nava was born March 8, 1931 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Rosendo and Martha (Rivera)
Nava. She met and fell in love with Ignacio Gonzalez, they later married October 7, 1951 in Valle Hermoso, Mexico. She loved cooking, sewing, and crocheting, Maria was the BEST mom ever. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
The legacy she leaves are her daughter Rosa Bidwell and husband Robert of Amarillo, four sons, Rosendo Gonzalez and wife Linda, Armando Gonzalez and wife Debbie, Jorge Gonzalez and wife Imelda, and Robert Gonzalez all of Hereford, five brothers Baltazar Nava and Reyes Nava both of Mexico, Felix Nava, Pantaleon Nava and Daniel Nava, all of Houston, two sisters, Joaquina Cortez of Houston and Irene Charles of Edinburg, Texas and eleven grandchildren , fourteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gonzalez was preceded in death by her husband, Ignacio Gonzalez, her parents, five brothers, Jesus, Rosendo, Fermin, Jose and Gavino, one sister Aurora Nava, and one son, Gilberto Gonzalez.
The family suggests memorials in Mrs. Gonzalez name be made to Coffee Memorial Blood Bank, 7500 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, Tx 79124
