Minnie Jo Hamrick, 95, of Amarillo died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Westpark Cemetery in Hereford with Scott Modersitzki officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Jo was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Hamblin to Joe and Minnie Prowell. She was married to Paul Hamrick, who preceded her in death. She was employed as a legal secretary for Grady Hazlewood for many years. Jo enjoyed decorating and building homes and was involved with Women in Construction and Habitat for Humanity.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a brother, Bill Prowell of Albuquerque, N.M.; a nephew, Jim Prowell of Amarillo; and her nieces, Shari Maxey of Midland, Dollie Parker of Amarillo, Dixie Prowell of Albuquerque, Margaret Prowell of Chicago and D.J. Prowell of Massachusetts.

The family suggests memorials be to Shriners Hospital for Children, Development Department, 6977 Main St., Houston, TX 77030 or 800-237-5055.
