HEREFORD - Alice Lee Warden Hanegan, 98, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, in Amarillo.
Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Milford Grisham, pastor of Christian Assembly Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
Alice Lee was born Oct. 8, 1910, in Hereford to Samuel and Mary Smith Warden. She married George Hanegan on Nov. 5, 1927, in Memphis. They moved back to Hereford in 1942.
Alice was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, Mary Fenton and Cornelia Patterson; three brothers, Samuel Warden, Lemuel Warden and Charlie Warden; and a grandson, Danny Monroe.
Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Warnex, Hazel Monroe and Helen Nunn, all of Amarillo, and Jean Volini of Midlothian; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren; and three "special" friends, Erma Hernandez, Christine Petree and Ada McCutchen, all of Hereford.
The family suggests memorials be to Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 Coulter St., Suite No. 404, Amarillo, TX 79106; Christian Assembly Church, 1206 S. Main St., Hereford, TX 79045; or a charity of choice.
