*Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. W.D. Hawkins, 83, were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Boyd officiating.

Mrs. Hawkins died Sept. 19 at 10:230 a.m. in the Souden Convalescent Home in Amarillo.

Mrs. Hawkins was born Sept. 9, 1876 in Tennessee. She came to Deaf Smith County in 1905 from Midlothian, Tex.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Hawkins, Abilene, Bill Hawkins, Tulia, Thurman Hawkins, Wichita Falls; two daughters, Mrs. Cathaleta [sic] Wheeless, from Amarillo, Mrs. Caselta [sic] Ross, Wichita Falls and nine grandchildren.

Burial was in West Park Cemetery under the direction of Gililland Funeral Home.
