Frances O. Hennen, age 97, passed away on January 1, 2007.

A memorial service will be held at Royal Estates of Abilene on Wednesday, January 3, at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, in West Park Cemetery in Hereford, Texas directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory, in Abilene, Texas.

Mrs. Hennen was born on May 24, 1909 in Hereford, Texas to pioneer family, F. H. and Amanda Homsley Oberthier. After graduation from Hereford High School, she attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville, TN.

In 1932, she married Theodore Brown Houston, who passed away in 1944. Following his death, she married Virgil O. Hennen in 1956.

Frances was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Hereford, and the Hereford Chapter of DAR.

Mrs. Hennen was preceded in death by her husband, V. O. Hennen, two sisters, Elizabeth and Louise, and a brother, Fred. Survivors include her son, Ted Houston and wife, Patricia, of Santa Fe, NM; daughter, Jane Dury and husband, Casper, of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Alisa Brown and husband, Dan, of Milan, Italy, Terry Kirby and wife, Lynn, of Bastrop, TX, and David Houston of Peoria, AZ; and three great-grandchildren, Jeff Brown of San Francisco, CA, Tim Brown of Carrboro, NC, and Houston Kirby of Bastrop, TX.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 601 W. Park, Hereford, TX, or to your favorite charity.
