Doris Gayle Roberson Galley Smith Voyles Hinds, 76, of Amarillo died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in West Park Cemetery in Hereford with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery in Hereford by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Doris was born July 25, 1933, in Hereford to Bernard and Opal Roberson. She worked as a teacher for more than 31 years, mostly with Amarillo Independent School District, but also taught in Adrian, Pampa and Cape May, N.J. Doris retired from Amarillo ISD in 1986. She was previously married to Clifford Galley, Dale Smith, John Voyles and H. Dale "Tex" Hinds. Doris was loved so very much by Kara, Freddie and Kalee. Her family will miss her smile and her laughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wendal Roberson.

Survivors include a daughter, Kara Galley Kuhn and husband Freddie; and a grandson, Kalee Kuhn, all of Dallas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Building Fund, First Baptist Church, 500 Main St., Hereford, TX 79045-5201; Building Fund, Kings Manor Methodist Retirement Home, Building Fund, 400 Ranger St., Hereford, TX 79045; or a favorite charity.
