*Obituary Lela Orr Jowell
Lela Orr Jowell, 88, who came to Hereford in 1904 from the Indian Territory in Oklahoma, died Friday in Austin.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in West Park Cemetery. Dr. Rodney Coleman, pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church of Austin, will officiate. Services are under direction of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home.
Born June 3, 1902 in Kingston, Indiana Territory, Mrs. Jowell married Roy Jowell June 3, 1926 in Hereford. He preceded her in death in October 1968. She lived here most of her life before moving to Austin in 1981.
Friends are invited to visit the family at lunch Tuesday in the Senior Citizen Center, or they will be at the Cecil Boyer home, 127 Ave. K.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Roberson of Austin; one sister, Lula Franklin Criscuolo of Phoenix, AZ; one grandson, Edward Roberson of Honolulu; one granddaughter, Jean Brashear of Georgetown; and thre great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials to Boys Ranch or Girlstown, or the Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church building fund in Austin.
