Orland "Bud" Newell, 78, of Hereford died Tuesday, June 18, 1991.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rose Chapel of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Wood, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
Mr. Newell was born in Hereford and was a lifelong resident. He married Merle Barber in 1931 at Tucumcari, N.M. He was a retired precinct foreman for Deaf Smith County and a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Milson Newell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Nyrna Newell of Lubbock; two brothers, Charles Newell and Gaylord Newell, both of Hereford; two sisters, Virginia Winget of Hereford and Elaine Willoughby of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Rose Chapel of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Wood, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home of Hereford.
Mrs. Newell was born in Lockney. She lived in Hereford for 75 years. She was a Methodist and a member of Hereford Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orland "Bub" Newell, and daughter, Myrna, both of whom passed away in 1991.
Survivors include a son, Milton Newell of Colorado Spring, Colo.; a sister, Helen Jones of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Jack Barber of Ruidoso, N.M.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
