MART HERALD SEPTEMBER 11, 1969
Mrs. P.L. (Lena Mae) Busby, age 81, died about 4:30 Thursday morning at her home in Battle. She had been in ill health for some time.
Funeral services have been set for Saturday, at 2 p.m. in Littlepage Chapel with Rev. Robert Haynes pastor of the Mart First United Methodist Church of Mart, officiating. Interment will be in Battle Cemetery.
Mrs. Busby the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.Jim Kelly pioneer residents of near Waco, attended school and graduated from Waco High. She attended State Normal at San Marcos and received her B.A. degree from Baylor University in Waco.
Survivors are two daughters, Beryl Busby of Mart and Mrs. Alfred Newport of Terrell; five sisters, Mrs. VIrgia Oliver, Memphis, TX, Mrs. Laura Rucker of Houston, Mrs. Mable Hostetter of Houston, Mrs. Bunah Cross of Houston, and Mrs. Neva Leach of York, PA; one brother, Forrest Kelly of Little Rock, Ark.; three half-brothers, Alvin Oliver, Melvin Oliver, and Ernest Oliver all of Houston; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
