Husband of Pearl white Glover Thompson
Son of Robert Kenyon and Nancy Ophelia Guice Thompson
Golden was a handsome athletic man, worked for the Rail road ,he was born in Brown County ,the 8th of 10 ,and the 6th of 8 sons ,born to Rev. Robert Kenyon and Nancy Ophelia Guise Thompson Sr. ,both Born in Arkansas. Rev. Thompson fought in the Texas 13th Calvary in the Civil War enlisting at age 16 in Dallas, TX. His wife was daughter of Methodist Episcopal preacher and Rev. Thompson was son, Grand son and Great Grandson of the same. Golden was like all the men in his family active in the Masonic Fraternity, a Past Master of his Masonic Lodge and also a Past Patron of the Eastern Star. he was also a member of several Fraternal Insurance societies .He grew up in Brownwood ,Texas Graduating from High school ,then going to Daniel Baker University, there. He played football on their famed Old Invincibles 1908 to 1911.Playing right Tackle. After school he went to work for the rail road, and married Pearl E. Wright .Who is buried next to him.
