On Saturday last occurred the death of Mrs. Emma Richardson of Pryor Creek, I.T., who was brought here a few weeks ago in the hopes that our pure air and altitude would be beneficial to her health, she having been stricken by that dread maladay [sic] - consumption. But the disease had taken too firm a hold on her frail constitution and our pure air was of no avail, as she had been confined to her bed since her arrival, until the Angel of Death relieved her further sufferings. It was first intended to convey her remains to Pryor Creek for burial, but it was later decided to have the interment in the Hereford cemetery, which took place on Sunday, attended by a large number of sympathizing friends. The only relative present at her final sufferings was her brother, J.H. Vann, who arrived the day previous to her death. The deceased was 29 years and 10 months of age, and besides her brother, leaves a husband and four children to mourn her demise, and who have the sympathy of the entire community in their deep bereavement.
