Funeral Mass for Olga Mata, age 61 of Seminole, Texas will be celebrated Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jose De Dios Gonzalez officiating, Rosary will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church from 6 to 7 p.m. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mata was born December 10, 1960 in Mexico to Dominga (Sotelo) and Fidel Gardea. She married Ramon Mata, Sr. in Mexico on November 4, 1978. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and worked in the Seminole ISD cafeteria. She worked hard, loved to cook and always had a contagious laugh. The students she served as a cafeteria worker were always treated like her own children. She loved being with her family and grandchildren.

Olga Mata passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Seminole Memorial Hospital in Seminole, Texas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Mata, Sr. in 2020, one brother and one sister. She is survived by one son, Ramon Mata, Jr. of Seminole; one daughter, Giovanna Davila and husband Gilbert of Kermit, Texas; two brothers, Fidel Gardea and wife Alma of Odessa, Texas, and Carlos Gardea and wife Cenia of Mexico; one sister, Rosa Aguilera and husband Hugo of Mexico; one sister-in-law, Luly Gardea of Mexico; and four grandchildren.
