WIMBERLEY - Roberta Royal, 90, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, in San Marcos.

Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Hereford with the Rev. Kyle Streun, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.

Roberta was born Sept. 30, 1916, in O'Brien to Lee and Beulah Cooner Robison. She married Ted Royal on Jan. 29, 1934, in Clovis, N.M. The family moved to Hereford in 1956 from Fieldton.

Roberta worked in the food service department of the Hereford Independent School District until her retirement. She moved to Wimberley about 3½ years ago, where she was a resident of Deer Creek Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987; and a grandson, Scot Shaw, in 1996.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Royal of Wimberley; a son, Gary Royal and wife Janet of Roswell, N.M.; a sister, Donna Smith of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Don Shaw of Amarillo, Valerie Lesly of Wimberley and Jennifer Rosenbaum of Cypress; and two nieces, Billie Jones and Wanda Robison, both of Hereford.

The family suggests memorials be to the Alzheimer's Association, 1400 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
