Funeral services for Opal Shaw, 81, of Hereford will be 3 p.m. Monday at the Temple Baptist Church with W.H. Bartlett officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery under the direction of Rix Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shaw died Thursday in an Amarillo hospital.
She was born Feb. 17, 1918, in DeKalb. She married Wayne Elvin Shaw on Oct. 3, 1933 in Anardarko [sic], Okla. She moved to Hereford in 1960. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and manager of the Nif-T Foods. She was a homemaker and had attended schools in Oklahoma.
Survivors include one son, Ken Shaw of Turlock, Calif.; one daughter, Loretta Woodard of Hereford; five brothers, Frances Hawkins of Socora [sic], N.M., Leon Hawkins, of Kingsville, Everett Hawkins of Oklahoma City, Okla., Carl Hawkins of Cullman, Ala., Meldon Hawkins of Lookeba, Okla.; three sisters, Ruth Taylor of Cullman, Ala., Ruby Elliott of Pryor, Okla., Lucy Elliott of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a special friend, Melvin Faulkner; four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
