Mrs. Slaughter Dies In Germany
Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy Slaughter, 24, of Butzbak, Germany, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday in West Park Cemetery in Hereford, with the Rev. Robert Lacewell, pastor of the Temple Baptist Church, officiating.
Mrs. Slaughter died at 2 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Landstuhl Army Hospital in Butzbak after a short illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Franklin-Bartlett Funeral Chapel in Lubbock, with the Rev. T.M. Harrell of Hamlin, Tex., officiating.
Mrs. Slaughter was born Nov. 22, 1935, in Jacksonville, Tex. She and Larry Slaughter of Hereford were married Jan. 31, 1953, in Abilene. The couple went to Germany on April 21, 21, [sic] 1958, from Camp Polk, La.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, Larry, four, and Scott, seven months; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Courtney of Lubbock; a brother, Gordon Courtney of Lubbock; three sisters, Mrs. Stacie Davis of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Miss Evelyn Courtney and Miss Karen Courtney, both of Lubbock.
Funeral arrangements in Hereford were under direction of Gililland Funeral Home.
