HEREFORD - Bertha Tafoya, 51, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011.
Prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. today in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday in La Iglesia de San Jose with the Rev. David Contreras as celebrant. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Tafoya was born July 25, 1959, in Ancension, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jesus Gutierrez and Maria de Jesus Camarillo. She married Juan Tafoya in 1995 in Hereford.
Survivors include her husband of Black; three sons, Juan Tafoya Jr. of Friona, and David Tafoya and Omar Tafoya, both of Black; a daughter, Brianna Tafoya of Black; her father of Chihuahua; three brothers, Jose Gutierrez and Jesus Manuel Gutierrez, both of Juarez, and Javier Gutierrez of Fresno, Calif.; four sisters, Cruz Gutierrez of Juarez, Gabriela Gutierrez and Maria Luisa Gutierrez, both of Ansencion, and Manuela Camarillo of Gomez, Durango, Mexico; and two grandchildren.
