Funeral Mass for Hector Hernandez, age 85 of Pittsburg, Texas and formerly of Seagraves, Texas will be celebrated Friday, September 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Seagraves, Texas with Father Jose De Dios Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves. Rosary will be held at Boyer Funeral Home Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 7 to 9 p.m. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole, Texas.

Mr. Hernandez was born November 27, 1936 in Pharr, Texas to Gertrudes (Garcia) and Severino Hernandez. He married Severa Yzaguirre in Seagraves, Texas on January 21, 1961 and was employed by The Western Company of Northern America as a diesel mechanic; he then retired in 1995 and later moved to Pittsburg, Texas. He was an outdoorsman and had a passion for fishing and horses; he was an avid deer hunter. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys.

Hector Hernandez passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at University of Texas Pittsburg Hospital.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Elia Hernandez Espinoza. He is survived by his wife, Severa Hernandez of Pittsburg, Texas; two sons, Charles Hernandez of Pittsburg, Texas and Eddie Hernandez and wife Rita of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter, Angelina Lopez and husband Joel of Pittsburg, Texas; eight grandchildren, Desiree Morales and Bryan Lopez of Odessa, Texas, Kandi Hernandez and Chasidi Hernandez of Lubbock, Texas, Gloria Epperson, and Lisa Valdez, Johnathan Hernandez, and Jennifer Martinez, all of Amarillo, Texas; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
