Glyda F.Langehennig Floyd
June 17, 1939-December 1, 2021
*Obituary
Seagraves - Services for Glyda Faye Floyd, 82, of Seagraves will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at First Assembly of God in Seagraves, TX. Pastor LD Hinson will officiate. Burial will be at the Seagraves Cemetery under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home. Glyda Faye passed from this life on December 1, 2021 and has gone home to be with the Lord.
She was born June 17, 1939 in Tankersley, TX to the late John Henry Langehennig and Lillian Lee Langehennig. Glyda Faye moved to Seagraves when she was a child and has been a life-long active resident in the community. She married the love of her life, Henry Floyd on July 23, 1965 in Seminole, TX. and they were married for over 56 years. They were always together truly living a life of love, respect and support for each other. Together they raised two sons, Owen and Chad Floyd who loved her very much. She was a tireless homemaker who loved to cook, bake and provide for her family. We really loved her homemade rolls, banana pudding and pecan pie. She was a staunch supporter at all the various athletic events in which her boys were involved. When the boys married she wholeheartedly accepted and adopted her daughters-in-law as her own and loved them as the daughters she never had. She loved all of her grandchildren and enjoyed them immensely. Glyda Faye was a proficient seamstress, quilter and a gifted painter. She loved camping in the outdoors. She enjoyed many hobbies but mostly loved being around her family and sharing in their lives. She had many good friends in the community and in her tenure working in the Seagraves ISD. She loved them dearly and spoke of them often to her family. Her loss has left a huge hole in our hearts and she will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, and two sisters. Glyda is survived by her husband Henry Floyd of Seagraves, two sons; Owen Floyd and Diana of Eagle Pass, Chad Floyd and Janice of Lubbock, three sisters; Dena Mae Gardner of Seagraves, Martha Bea Gooding of Magnolia, Texas, Mary Sines of Traverse City, Michigan, four brothers; Lonny Langehennig of Lubbock, Johnny Langehennig of Odessa, Paul David Langehennig of Brownfield, Robert Gaines Langehennig of Lubbock, three grandchildren; Daniel Floyd, Pete Floyd, Rachael Fonseca, eight great grandchildren; Jeremy, Joshua, Jaelyn, John, Owen, Logan, Sydney, and Hadley.
