A graveside service for Joyce Janell Spence, 75, of Warda, Texas will be held at Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves, Texas at a later date.
Joyce Janell Spence was born on July 1, 1944 in Seagraves, Texas to Orville Harvey “Bob” and Effie Jewel (Hock) Ribble. Joyce graduated from Seagraves High School. She married Jerry Ray Spence in Denver City, Texas in 1995. Together they owned an oil field supply company for many years where she was the office manager. Joyce loved listening to country music, working on her family genealogy, and traveling. She was an avid reader and enjoyed talking about current politics. Joyce was a joyful, positive lady who loved spending time with her family and friends.
Joyce passed away the morning of Sunday, April 19, 2020 in Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Effie Ribble; husband, Jerry Spence; sister, Dorothy Sides; daughter-in-law, Toni Porter, and grandson-in-law, Bradley Dillin.
Joyce is survived by her three children, Belinda Porter and fiancée Bart Fox of Warda, Sharon Bradford and fiancée Kevin Woelfel of Carmine, and Mike Porter of Giddings; eight grandchildren, Matthew Porter of Warda, Dylan Porter of Warda, Justin Castillo of Carmine, Hayley Castillo of Carmine, Kaitlin Bradford of Carmine, Samantha Dillin of Oyster Creek, Cole Porter of Lake Jackson, and Shane Porter of Giddings; two great grandchildren, Axton Porter of Goldthwaite, and Brayden Dillin of Oyster Creek; one brother, Gail Ribble of Denver City, as well as one niece and two nephews.
