Linda “June” Belcher Faulkenberry, 73, took her journey home November 17, 2019 at her home in Flint, Texas.
June was born October 30, 1946 in Lubbock, Texas to the late James and Elaine Belcher.
June was a Drum Major, President of the National Honor Society, on the Talon staff, in One Act Play, Drama Club, FHA Officer and other activities in the year 1965 of Seagraves High School. She then attended Texas Tech University and became a registered nurse.
Upon marriage to Kenneth Earl Smart she joined him in Kitzingen Germany stationed there for two years. June worked at the School of Nursing in Amarillo, Tx. After their return to the states. Later, after raising her daughter to her teen years, June started her own business as a Certified Nurse Case Manager. She was tenacious in helping her patients receive the best care and was extremely revered by the medical community she worked with both in Amarillo and Tyler Texas.
In 1997 June married her soulmate from childhood, Johny “Bo” Faulkenberry. Their adventures began in Kemah Texas on the water front. Soon after they moved to the Tyler Texas area settling on beautiful lake Palestine, which she referred to as their own Golden Pond. June again started her own Case Management business and retired at 65 to be able to spend more time traveling and enjoying her family. The two loves visited Australia, Disney World, Hawaii, Alaska, Branson, Fredricksburg, Nashville, and the West half of the United States on a road trip.
June was a loving, devoted mother to her only child Tiffany Carol Smart who considered her to be her mentor, counselor, and best friend. Her intense faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and 47 years of teaching that love to her daughter is her greatest legacy. Her numerous friends, colleagues, and family members are forever touched by the love of this amazing woman.
June is survived by her husband Bo Faulkenberry of Flint, TX, her daughter Tiffany Carol Smart of Hewitt, TX, stepsons Ryan Faulkenberry of Midland, TX, Clay Faulkenberry of Lubbock, TX, sister Jan Summers of Lubbock, TX, nieces Lindy Anderson Sherwood, Jenny Anderson Garcia, and step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Jim Belcher.
Memorial service to be held graveside in Seagraves TX, November 27 at 2 PM.
