Santiago "Jimmy" Sandoval Valdez, 85, of Hereford died Thursday, June 26, 2014.
Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday in San Jose Catholic Church with Monsignor Joe Bixenman as celebrant. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E. Sixth St. in Hereford.
Mr. Valdez was born July 25, 1928, in Lockhart to Jose and Faviana Valdez. He married Costancia Guardiola in Lubbock 66 years ago.
Survivors include his wife Costancia; three sons, Roberto Valdez, Albert Valdez and John Tomas Valdez, all of Hereford; three daughters, Regina Carbajal, Corena Garcia and Carol Ruiz, all of Hereford; a brother, Jose Valdez of Hereford; a sister, Maria Valdez of Hereford; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
