Funeral services for Della Stephenson Richie, age 87 of Seminole, Texas will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church with Brother Kelly Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. Family will host a visitation at Boyer Funeral Home Monday, September 26, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Richie was born January 27, 1935 in Odell, Texas to Mary (Tankersley) and George Stephenson. She married Lavern Richie on March 7, 1952 in Vernon, Texas. She was a Christian and a homemaker. Della loved the Lord and was a great prayer warrior. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, and working beside her husband on the farm. She always looked forward to attending family reunions; she was known for her great cooking skills. She also loved bald eagles and the Tasmanian Devil. Anyone who didn't get a chance to know her lost a wonderful chance.
Della Stephenson Richie passed away at her home in Seminole, Texas Friday, September 23, 2022. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lavern in 1994; one daughter, six brothers, four sisters, and one daughter-in-law. She is survived by three sons, William Richie of McLoud, Oklahoma, Robert Richie and wife Barbara of Brady, Texas, and Brett (aka Tooter-bill) Richie and wife Lisa of Rogers, Arkansas; two daughters, Gayla Crider and husband Glenn of Seminole, Texas, and Dana Fisher and husband David of Hobbs, New Mexico; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
