Funeral services for Bob Clark, age 89 of Seminole, Texas will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at West Side Church of Christ, with Ray Young officiating and David Williams assisting. A private family burial will follow. All services are under the direction Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Wounded Warriors Project.
Bobby Claude Clark was born in Littlefield, Texas on October 5, 1932 to Wanda (Honea) and Claude T. Clark. He attended Texas Tech University and played football there in 1950. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956, during the Korean War, then returned and married Vicky Jo Thompson on January 2, 1960 in Seminole. They moved from Lubbock to Seminole in 1966.
Bob was always extremely civic-minded. He served the city on both the City Council and later as Mayor of Seminole in the 1970s. During that time, he was instrumental in helping the Mennonite people to locate in Seminole in 1977. He always cared deeply for Seminole and Gaines County.
Bob continued to serve his community as well as his church. He was an elder at West Side Church of Christ for 25 years, and was the owner of Bob Clark Financial Services in Seminole for many years.
Bob Clark went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2022. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister.
