Obituary:
James Earl ROACH, 82, of Mooreland, Oklahoma died Feb. 4 in a Mooreland Hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 7 in Fairview United Methodist Church, southwest of Laverne. Burial followed at Fairmont Cemetery in Follett under the direction of Billings Funeral Home.
A farmer and former resident of the Lovell community near Slapout, OK, he was born in Waukomis, OK on Aug. 8, 1903. He moved to Beaver County as an infant, and attended school in the Lovell community.
He married Helen ROSE on August 29, 1931 in Shattuck, and they farmed in Slapout until 1973, when they retired and moved to Mooreland.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Janice Lavon THOMASON, of Selah, WA; two sons, James Alvin "Jim" ROACH of Perryton and Claude Neal ROACH of Woodward, OK; a brother, Ted ROACH of Laverne; two sisters, Hazel ARTHURS, Downey, CA and Dorthea EDGERLY, Oceanside, CA; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
