*Obituary A.C. Alexander, Jr.
A.C. "Pops" Alexander, Jr., of Big Spring died Thursday, June 04, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of Spring Creek Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.

A.C. was born May 19, 1917 in Rhome, Texas to Minnie and Arthur Clay Alexander, Sr. He married Doris Helen Welborn on March 5, 1939 in Snyder, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2009. A.C. was a farmer and rancher in Tulia, Spur and Plainview. He returned to Snyder in 1977 and worked at Key Brothers John Deere and owned a Chevron Station at Union, Texas. He enjoyed golf, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Spring Creek Fellowship.

A.C. is survived by one daughter: Vicki Slaton and her husband Ray; and one son: A.C. "Alec" Alexander, III and wife Gwen all of Big Spring; three brothers: Weldon Alexander and his wife Aileen of Dallas; Lyle Alexander of Austin; Bill Alexander and his wife Betty of Houston; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, A.C. was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years; one sister and one brother.

The family suggests memorials to Spring Creek Fellowship Building Fund, Box 2070, Big Spring, Texas 79720.

Doris "Momma Dee" Alexander, 89, of Big Spring, our earthly mother went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Rev. Dennis Teeters, of Spring Creek Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

Doris was born October 31, 1919, in Snyder to Stella and Charles Wellborn. Doris married her high school sweetheart, A. C. Alexander, Jr. on March 5, 1939 in Snyder. They had farmed at Tulia, Spur and Plainview. They returned to Snyder in 1977. Doris owned Pat Walker's in Snyder. They moved to Big Spring in 1997, to be near family. Doris's hobbies were sewing, grandchildren and especially great grandchildren, who she said kept her young. She was a member of Spring Creek Fellowship.

Doris is survived by her husband A. C. Alexander, Jr. of Big Spring; son: A. C. "Alec" Alexander, III and his wife Gwen of Big Spring; daughter: Vicki Slaton and her husband Ray of Big Spring; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by four sisters: Charlene Jarratt, Frances Allen, Estelle Pierce, and Joyce Wellborn; and two brothers: H. P. Wellborn and Charles Wellborn, Jr.


The family suggests memorials to the Building Fund at Spring Creek Fellowship, P. O. Box 2070, Big Spring, Texas 79721.
