Hazel Baker, 63, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Rev. Elwin Collom, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Coahoma Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday.

She was born November 13, 1943, in Howard County, Texas to Ilia and Ralph Coates. She married Charles Baker in March of 1963. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2007. She was a licensed Vocational Nurse. She graduated from Howard College LVN School. She wored at the Big Spring State Hospital, Malone-Hogan Clinic, Malone-Hogan Hospital, and then Scenic Mountain Medical Center. She was a lifetime resident of Howard County and was a member of First Baptist Church in Coahoma.

She is survived by one daughter: Tonya Baker of Coahoma; two sons: Ronald Baker of Henderson, and Raymond Baker of Coahoma; three step-daughters: Brenda Kile of Crestview, Florida, and Seretha Baker and Lily Boone, both of Paradise, California; two brothers: R. L. Coates of Coahoma, and Frank Coates of Big Spring; one sister: Betsy Land of Coahoma; 13 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Charles Baker, Jr.
Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
