Services for C. A. Cranfill, 86, Coahoma, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 1995, at Coahoma Church of Christ with Russell Mullins, minister, and John Snyder, minister of Andrews Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

Mr. Cranfill died Tuesday July 11, in a local hospital.

He was born on January 4, 1909, in Scurry County, and married Minnye Mays on April 12, 1930, in Lovington, New Mexico. He had lived in the Coahoma area since 1925. He worked for Graves Construction Company and helped build Cosden Refinery. He then worked for the Cosden and Fina Refineries for 42 years, retiring in 1971. Mr. Crancill was a member of he Coahoma Church of Christ and had served as an Elder and son leader for over 30 years.

Survivors include his wife; Minnye Cranfill, Coahoma; one daughter; Wanda Bristo, Coahoma; three sisters; Rita Moe, Pascogoula, Mississippi, Pat Cauthen, Pasadena and Vernelle Fowler, Waco; two grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

The family suggests memorials to: Manulito Najavo Children's Home, P. O. Box Drawer B, Gallup, New Mexico 87301 or to the donors favorite charity.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home:
Minnye Mays Cranfill, 92, of Coahoma, died on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 23, 2004 at the Coahoma Church of Christ with Russell Mullins, minister, officiating, and Don Allen, assisting. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

Born on July 11, 1912, in Jack County, Texas, she was one of ten children of Luther and Annie Sullivan Mays. She moved with her family to Howard County in 1920 from Jack County. Minnye married C. A. Cranfill on April 12, 1930 in Lovington, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1995.

Minnye helped write the History of Howard County 1882 - 1982. She was a longtime member of the Coahoma Church of Christ and taught the Ladies Bible Class for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Bristo; her grandson, Wayne Bristo; her granddaughter, Luanne and her husband, Clifford McCartney; four great granddaughters; and two great great grandchildren.
