J. D. Spears, 94, of Coahoma, died on Friday, February 16, 2007, at the Home Hospice Facility in Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 19, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Monroe Teeters, officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

The family will be gathering at the home of Billy and Veta Spears in Coahoma.

He was born on January 18, 1913, in Coahoma, Texas and married Euletha Thompson on May 23, 1934 in Ranger, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2007.

Mr. Spears was a lifelong resident of Coahoma. He farmed all his life and also worked as an auto mechanic at several shops in Big Spring. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, building and repairing clocks and spending summers in Colorado. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Coahoma.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sherry Spears of Cypress, Norman and LaNell Spears of Clyde, Billy and Veta Spears of Coahoma; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters.

The family suggests memorials be made to Home Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, Texas 79761.

Euletha Spears, 90, of Coahoma, died on Sunday, January 28, 2007, at the Hospice House in Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Monroe Teeters, officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

The family will be gathering at the home of Billy and Veta Spears in Coahoma.

Euletha was born on August 14, 1916, in Powderly, Texas and married J. D. Spears on May 23, 1934 in Ranger, Texas.

Mrs. Spears was a lifelong resident of Coahoma. She was born to Thomas and Mable Thompson and was raised and attended school in Coahoma. She operated The Hair Style Clinic on Gregg Street in Big Spring for over 15 years until her retirement. She loved to fish.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Coahoma.

Survivors include her husband, J. D. Spears of Coahoma; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sherry Spears of Cypress, Norman and LaNell Spears of Clyde, and Billy and Veta Spears of Coahoma, one sister, Mae Johnson of Abilene, ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
