Minnie Clanton Bonner, 90, of The Woodlands, formerly of Big Spring, died September 25, 2007, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring, Texas, with Rev. M. D. "Doc" Methvin, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Minnie Murray was born April 6, 1917 in Coryell County, Texas. She was the seventh child of John M. & Callie Ann Murray. At age six the family moved from Coryell County by horse & wagon to Dawson County, Texas where Minnie attended the first grade of school. The following year they moved to Borden County, Texas where she attended the Vealmoor School. Minnie was married to Ernest Clanton on January 19, 1935. To this union was born five children. They resided on a farm in Howard County 5 miles south of her parents for 34 years. At Ernest death in 1968, Minnie bought a home and moved into Big Spring. She enjoyed trips & lunch with friends. While living on the farm, the welcome mat was always out to family & friends, Minnie was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed baking cakes and nearly always had an extra one in the freezer waiting for company to stop by.

On May 7, 1971 Minnie married Seaborn F. Bonner. She moved to Dumas, Texas where Seaborn was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company. Seaborn retired in 1975 and they moved to Kerrville, Texas. They enjoyed living in the Hill Country where Seaborn enjoyed fishing and Minnie spent lots of time on genealogy. They enjoyed several trips and cruises together.Seaborn passed away in 1986. Minnie kept active with several trips and lots of friends & family stopping by to visit.In 1996, Minnie's health declined so she needed to be near some of her family. She entered a retirement home in the Houston area to be near Thelma, her daughter, who has done an excellent job overseeing her care.

She is preceded in death by all her brothers & sisters.Survivors include Doris & Steve Welsh of Georgetown, Texas, Thelma Neff of Spring,Texas, Eugene & Carolyn Clanton of Cisco, Texas, Jo & Gene Powell of Brookeland, Texas, Dwaine Clanton of Elm Mott, Texas, Norman & Susan Bonner of Palestine,Texas and Glenn & Cris Bonner of Ponca City, Oklahoma. She will be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
