*Obituary Evelyn Sanders Burnsed
Evelyn M. Burnsed, 95, of Austin, Texas, died on Monday, July 19, 2010, in Austin. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, Big Spring.

She was born on October 3, 1914, in Fannin County, Texas and married Rogers Burnsed. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1981.

Evelyn graduated from Honey Grove High School then attended and received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education degrees from Texas A&M University-Commerce, formerly known as East Texas State Teachers College. She taught for 40 years in Texas schools, including Honey Grove, Marshall, Gladewater, Odessa, and eventually retiring in Abilene. The twenty years after retirement, Evelyn spent making many dear friends and serving the First Baptist Church in Abilene before moving to Austin to be near her family.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Tamara Burnsed Needles; great-grandson, Tyler Needles; and daughter-in-law, Joy Burnsed, all of Austin.

Evelyn was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Burnsed of Big Spring in 1975; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Sanders of Honey Grove.
